Enrichment
Clubs and Activities
Our curriculum is built to support, inspire and prepare our children to be their BEST now and in the future. Our wide-ranging extra-curricular offer, aims to provide opportunity to develop new interests, identify talents and promote a thirst for learning.
Information about the school’s extra-curricular club offer is sent via the school jotter app prior to the booking system opening. Places are limited and are on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
Enrichment Opportunities
At our school, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. We offer a wide range of clubs, activities, workshops and educational visits that are designed to inspire children, broaden their experiences and create lasting memories. Throughout the year, pupils have opportunities to take part in sporting competitions, mental health workshops, healthy relationships sessions, Shakespeare Week, local community events and our annual Put Your Pen Down Day. We are also fortunate to welcome a local author, Dan Worsley, into school regularly, helping to promote a love of reading and writing.
Reading is at the heart of our curriculum and every year group enjoys regular visits to the local library. In addition, each year group takes part in at least one off-site educational visit linked to their learning:
Foundation Stage – Farm visit and our much-loved chick hatching experience.
Year 1 – Theatre trip and a ride on the Naughty Bus.
Year 2 – Theatre trip, Florence Nightingale visitor and a visit to Martin Mere.
Year 3 – Blackpool Zoo visit and a Roman Theatre workshop.
Year 4 – Swimming lessons.
Year 5 – Visit to Jodrell Bank and the opportunity to learn a musical instrument.
Year 6 – Residential visit and a special end-of-year reward trip.
Throughout the year, children also enjoy a variety of performances and celebrations. These include Christmas Nativity productions, carol concerts, our whole-school carol concert at the local church and end-of-year showcase assemblies where pupils can celebrate and share their achievements with families and the wider school community.
We are proud to provide a rich programme of experiences that help our children develop confidence, resilience, creativity and a love of learning while creating warm memories that will stay with them long after they leave our school.
