Y6 Home Learning Closure
We are working hard to put together some key things you can be doing with your child whilst school is closed. Your child should have brought home a workbook from school and should use this workbook to complete the written tasks which will be posted on the school website. We will aim to add work for your child to complete on a daily basis (but if we have a much reduced staff this may not always be possible), so you should check the website on a regular basis.
As a daily expectation, we are encouraging children to spend at least 15 minutes on each of the following:
- Enjoy reading a book together
- Learn spellings
- IDL (Y2-6)
- Practise handwriting
- Daily Exercise
You can find more information by reading this letter.
In addition to the above AND the daily tasks posted, your child can also research units or topics of interest to them and linked to the wider curriculum. Here is a list of current units of learning linked to each year group:
- Year 6 - WWII, specifically the Battle of Britain (when and where it took place; who was involved and its significance in preventing a full invasion of mainland Britain by Nazi Germany)
Please check here regularly updated learning activities.
